I have been using Joi Phone for the last one year. I must tell that it provides the best voice quality for the very low price compared to its competitors. It has great international rates, that I frequently use to call my folks back home. Joi Phone brings JOY and quality for low price!!!

I had very bad experience with Joi phone. I think they are a bogus company with very very low standard service. My phone never worked after I signed up for a 1 year contract. The customer service is very bad and they at most times are rude. I cancelled the service with in the first 30 days and that was 3 months ago. I have not received my money back yet. I dont think they are going to give me back my money.
Please never sign up for this service. If you have then your money is gone!!!!

The VOIP service is good BUT where Joi does fall down (and it is a real shame) is the way their internal company is set up & the lack of accountability or responsibility any of the employees take to resolves issues or problems. Monday our Linksys Adapter/Router quit working. As we all know electronics can work a week or 20 yrs. If the Router does not work the VOIP won’t work. Joi takes a long time to diagnose a problem & when they do they don’t seem to have any authority to make decisions & so you are left w/ no service & no resolution. Finally we get an email w/ an RMA for return. They charge us $15.00 for S&H (rip off) & if their Linksys Router is not returned w/in 10 dys another $85. charge. The router is defective so why do we pay the postage??????????? We paid for service 1 yr in advance. Their customer care is non existent.

I think joi phone sucks. It”s been six weeks I got the service and still
the joi phone can”t fix my caller ID. Every time I call someone it shows any name but my name.I”ll not recommend JOI phone to anybody.

After 5 months, i can now say that the voice quality is just a step below the Vonage line that it replaced, and much better than my magic jack line. i have not had a single problem or had to contact joiphone for any reason, so i can not comment on the customer service. it did take several weeks to port my number from Vonage. i do believe that this is as good as it gets for the price!! and i have been very happy with the service.

Joiphone stinks. If you have a problem, takes ages to fix. Closed one line and they keep billing me monthly. Took 5 hours to forward calls to different #. Stay away

These are the worst people I have ever dealt with. The service was down numerous times. I could not get an answer to my e-mails. I cancelled my service & they tried to charge me for the next year. They are ether dishonest or stupid. P[EASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SERVICE & IF YOU DO DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD #

Poor voice quality and dropped calls. Poor customer service (same man answering the customer service call claims to be somone else).
Cancelled service, returned equipment and never got a refund of over $300.

OMG, stay away from these people!!
Issue 1: Slow phone service — after you dial any number, you wait a good 8-12 seconds before getting anything, ie “ringing or busy”
Issue 2: Their “terms of service” say you have “unlimited usage” but they deemed that I was “abusing” the system — and forced me to switch to a $34 a month business plan, or they would charge me a violation fee of $200. So I had to switch, nice.
Issue 3: If you prepay or pay ahead, you WONT get any refunds past the first 30 days of service.
Issue 4: Email ONLY contact to billing department, who is also slow in responding, about 2-4 days turn around. Plus you always get these “we already responded to email” messages also.
Issue 5: Email ONLY contact to phone number transfer group, even worse slow or no response issue.
Ended up dumping them for fios and phone service with verizon for $53 a month.

Stay away from this company! Poor customer service, takes too long to get a response. Sound quality is bad. I was told over the phone while signing up for service that my number was transferrable. I also requested confirmation via e-mail that it was transferrable before signing up for service. After 4 months they have now told me it is not possible to transfer the number. I asked for a refund and cancellation of service. They cancelled my service but kept my full year subscription money. No refund because it was after the 30 day period. There is no way to cancel service after they confirm that they can’t transfer your number.
BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!! DISHONEST

My number has been suddenly change or canceled without notice 4 times!!!!! This is totally rediculous and causes signficant distress because I have people that this is the only way to contact me and otherwise they have to wait for snail mail 5-7 agonizing days to get an update while they wonder why the phone was cut off. I have had no compensation for this. No reimbursement for the days without service. I would geive the reliability rating a ZERO if I could. The sound quality is good, but you have to have a vaild phone number for that to work.
