Video Phone:
Packet8’s Video Calling through Video Phone service is the best way to connect to relatives and friends from around the globe. Video Phone gives access to high-quality, full-motion video and clear, delay-free audio in any broadband (high-speed Cable of DSL) Internet connection. Its time limited offer of $149.99 per phone has a two-year service contract for $19.95 a month.
Virtual Phone Number:
A second number which directs to a primary Packet8 line is Packet8 Virtual Phone Number. Virtual Phone Numbers have mostly area codes in the US allowing people to call you from that selected area code paying a local call rather than making a long distance call. Virtual phone numbers let customers receive calls from people not within the local calling area with the caller paying only for a local call. For activation of this feature, it will cost $9.99 and a monthly fee of $4.99 for Domestic US Virtual Number. International Virtual Number has a $9.99 one-time activation fee. It costs $9.99 per month for unlimited inbound calls.
Toll Free Plus:
Toll free number service is included with the unlimited calling plans which provide callers accessibility to call Packet8 subscriber for no charge irrespective of their location within the US or worldwide. 2.Freedom Unlimited Global for $29.99 a month which has unlimited call time to US, Canada and other top 40 countries
3.Freedom Annual for $199.00 per year which has unlimited call time to the US and Canada
4.Freedom Choice 500 for $14.99 a month with unlimited inbound call time and 500 minutes outbound call time to the US and Canada.
5.Freedom Fax for $9.99 a month with 300 minutes of outgoing faxes to the US and Canada with unlimited incoming faxes.
6.Softalk Basic for $0.00 which allows to make unlimited voice or video calling to any other Packet8 subscriber.
Most of the plans have Packet8 advanced calling features included in them. Calls to mobile phones and other premium numbers in France, Italy, Ireland, Spain and United Kingdom are not included in the unlimited plans and will be paid through metered rates.
Customer Service:
Customers have different feedbacks regarding Packet8 Customer Service. Some are satisfied. Others are not. One of the setbacks in their Customer Service is its delay and mixed-up local number porting. Other complaints include the toll free number which has support within the US, however, subscribers outside the US need to call a regular US phone number for support.
Packet8 customer support is available from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm PDT Monday through Saturday. Technical support is available from 5:00 am to 9:00pm PDT Monday to Saturday. A separate number is provided for Virtual Office technical support with common time availability as the regular customer service support. Their customer service is also accessible through emails.
Other Details:
Packet8 offers a whole house VOIP solution with Uniden UIP1868P which is a 2-in1 IP phone with built in router. The user-friendly phone comes with one handset. Subscribers are free to buy more phone sets and connect to the main line. The standard Uniden phone is being offered at a discounted price of $49 for a 1 year service agreement. This is available with the standard packages. In case there is a cancellation before the termination of the service period, cancellation fee is at $99.

I have tried packet8 and they have neat phones, but their rates are high. I switched to a company that provides VOIP in St. Louis called truecallinternational.com and they seem to have better rates. Hopefully their rates stay low.
